Dr Iqbal Omarali was born in London, England and raised in Toronto, Canada. He attended University of Toronto, majoring in Biology. He then pursued his medical career at the Royal College of Surgeons in Dublin, Ireland from where he obtained his medical degree. He completed an Internal Medicine Residency at the Mayo Clinic at Rochester, Minnesota. After his residency in Internal Medicine, Dr Omarali then enjoyed the honor as Chief Resident at University of Missouri-Columbia where he also performed the duties of Attending Physician. He then completed a fellowship in Cardiology at Columbia-Presbyterian Hospital in New York. He completed a year of further training at Columbia University on the subject of Cardiac echocardiography. Dr Omarali has completed numerous publications on the subject of stroke and echocardiography. Dr Omarali moved in 1999 to Pleasanton, California with his wife, Dr Bader. They began private practice at Pleasanton Medical Group in 2000.
Dr Omarali is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Cardiology. His clinical interests involve echocardiography, stroke and Preventive Cardiology. He and Dr Bader have two daughters, Ayesh and Zoya. He enjoys computers, gardening, and penmanship with italic nib fountain pens.
